Dragon Boat Race 2007

In 2007, dragon boats were made up by Dr.Chun-Chao Chiu and I. There were series of activities along with dragon making. Lots children were got involved in different kinds of workshops of Chinese traditional arts and craft. It's also a very good experience to teach these children and stay with them this summer. No doubt, more people enjoyed Dragon Boat Race in 2007.

Dragon Boat Race of CAA

The Chinese Arts Association(CAA) of North East of England has organized four times Dragon Boat Race in Newburn Leisure Centre. From 2006, Christine Lawler, the manager of CAA began to invite Chinese artists to make up dragon boats. In 2006, this work was carried out by Dr.Chun-Chao Chiu, Yanmei Huang and Wei Wang(myself). About 2,000 people took part in on the race day. Except 10 teams enjoyed their rowing in the river, other visitors also had a good time to enjoy some Chinese traditional programme, including Kungfu, Lion dancing and Chinese Drumming. A big tent was prepared especially for children where they could learn some Chinese arts and craft. I taught children Origami that day. Ok, let's find more in pictures...
